It was okay. It's a little too long and seems to wander a bit. I wasn't ever really sure which direction the author was taking it and what the overall lesson of the story was. Because this is a middle grade book, I was hoping we would get some lessons on how it doesn't matter what people look like, it matters what they do. But I don't think that really came through. The writing was really good and there were some really nice moments, but overall I felt that there was a lack of direction.
